Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Assembly Mechanic to join a growing manufacturing team in Brooklyn Park, MN. In this role, you will assemble high-quality products safely and efficiently according to company policies, procedures, and engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read blueprints, and prior hands-on assembly or mechanical experience.
Key Responsibilities
• Prioritize safety in all daily activities.
• Assemble products according to engineering prints and specifications.
• Utilize mechanical tools, torque tools, hydraulics, electrical components, and metric units.
• Maintain accurate electronic and manual documentation.
• Identify, document, and communicate issues; recommend and implement solutions when discrepancies occur.
• Collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Work independently with limited supervision.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly or related field, or a certified trade school/technical degree in mechanical or manufacturing fields.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints/engineering drawings.
• Ability to safely operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and hoists.
Physical Requirements
• Lift up to 35 lbs frequently.
• Stand and work for 8-hour shifts with minimal breaks.
• Ability to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, twist, and work in tight or awkward spaces.
• Ability to work at multiple heights, including climbing on equipment, machines, ladders, and step stools.
• Work in environments with frequently changing temperatures.
• Repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling, and rotating motions required.
• Fine motor skills for precision tasks.
• Regular use of mechanical hand tools including wrenches, drills, cutters, tie wrap guns, pneumatic and vibratory tools, and manual torque tools (must be able to torque up to 250 Newton meters or 185 foot pounds).
• Required PPE: hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel toe/metatarsal footwear; dust masks as needed.
