Company InfoTo operate machine tools in a machine shop. Operator will assist with the operation of a variety of manual and CNC controlled machine tools or laser welding. Performing tasks such as loading and unloading fixtures, chucks, vises on proven processes which are set up and qualified to be making acceptable quality parts. Utilizes computers to confirm operations and complete material transactions in a production environment. Work cell cleanliness and organizational duties are included.

DescriptionMajor Areas of Accountability:

  1. Production Equipment - Operates a variety of machines which includes both manual and CNC Mills, Lathes, Grinders, deburring, cleaning equipment, or laser welder. Utilizes all personal protective equipment and all safety features. Can recognize when tooling, process, or equipment is not operating properly.
  2. Operate and Adjust - Produces product on CNC, manual machines, or laser welder that meets or exceeds the productivity requirements of the established processes. Documents and communicates any inconsistencies in part appearance or finish quality through the NCMR process. Follows instructions on loading and unloading of fixtures, chucks, vises on proven processes which are set up and qualified to be making quality parts.
  3. Care of Equipment and Cleanliness - Exercises proper care of Tescom equipment. Checks fluids and oil levels daily and adds if needed. Keeps work area and machines clean and organized.
  4. Safety - Performs work in a safe manner by following all Plant safety policies and processes. Insures safety guards and interlocks are in place on all machines and hand tools. Notifies supervision and maintenance by generating an E-Maintenance request for any issues that are found in need of repair.
  5. Quality Functions – Insures all processes that are being worked on are qualified for production. Performs quality functions such as inspection of machining or weld processes. Works with senior Machinist to make sure all quality instructions are being followed. Examples are NCMR’s, NCMR Use as is requests, and parts that need reworked are kept separate and identified.
  6. Apparent or Assigned - Performs any other work as apparent or assigned.
 
Requirements
  1. High school graduate. Prior training in machine shop or production environment a plus.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of shop math.
  3. Ability to communicate (verbal/written) effectively with other employees.
  4. Ability to work in a cooperative and team oriented environment.
  5. Ability to use computers and shop reference manuals.
  6. Per Government Regulations all employees in this job classification must be a US Citizen or permanent resident of the United States.

  1. Physical ability to lift, carry or maneuver up to 60 pounds
