We are seeking a dynamic Production Manager to oversee the fabrication and production of high-quality, custom-built exhibits. This position plays a key role in coordinating people, processes, and materials to ensure each project is executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of craftsmanship. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a balance of operational expertise and creative problem-solving ability—someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and innovation drive success. You’ll work closely with designers, engineers, and fabricators to manage workflow, schedules, and vendor relationships while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and with exceptional attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
Staff Management
• Lead, mentor, and conduct performance reviews for CAD Detailers, Estimator, Purchaser, Shop Manager, and Artistic Fabrication Manager.
• Hire, train, and schedule full-time, part-time, temporary, and subcontracted staff.
• Set and track productivity goals for fabrication teams.

Scheduling & Capacity Planning
• Forecast staffing needs and update production schedules based on input from team leaders.
• Use Smartsheet to monitor shop performance and adjust as needed.
• Partner with Project Managers to align project timelines and resolve production delays.

• Oversee project flow through CAD, CNC, wood shop, 3D printing, and artistic fabrication.
• Prioritize workloads and fast-track high-risk components.
• Develop and refine operational procedures while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Review CAD drawings for consistency with cost estimates and design intent.
• Track rework and warranty costs; report issues such as machine downtime.
• Enforce safety policies to maintain an accident-free workplace.
• Oversee project flow through CAD, CNC, wood shop, 3D printing, and artistic fabrication.
• Prioritize workloads and fast-track high-risk components.
• Develop and refine operational procedures while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination
• Solicit and evaluate bids for outsourced fabrication (metal, plastics, interactives, etc.).
• Coordinate building modifications and specialty parts procurement.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and lead times with vendors.
• Oversee quality and timeliness of subcontracted work.
• Solicit and evaluate bids for outsourced fabrication (metal, plastics, interactives, etc.).

• Review active designs for completeness; advise on materials and fabrication strategies.
• Work with Estimator to allocate labor hours across fabrication components.
• Collaborate on shipping logistics, including vehicle and equipment planning.

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of fabrication experience (exhibits, architectural millwork, or custom retail preferred).
• Proven track record in production management within a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing vendor relationships.
• Ability to read CAD drawings, blueprints, and MEP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace.
• Strong skills in vendor negotiation, cost control, and project management.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
