Pay: $23.00–$30.00 per hour (DOE and level placement)

Job Summary:
We are seeking Building Maintenance Technicians across three skill levels—Technician I, II, and III—to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks across multiple properties in the Golden Valley area. This role offers opportunities ranging from entry-level support to highly skilled independent work, depending on experience. Technicians will travel to various building sites, complete work orders, perform preventive maintenance, and support tenants and property staff with a high level of service.
• Technician I (Entry–Mid Level): 6 months–2 years of experience performing basic maintenance tasks.
• Technician II (Intermediate): 2–5 years of experience with broader technical skills across HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical.
• Technician III (Advanced): 5+ years of experience with strong diagnostic skills and a valid Boilers License.
All positions require professionalism, safety awareness, and strong customer service.

Key Responsibilities (All Levels):
• Receive work orders and travel to multiple buildings across the metro area
• Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues
• Assist with installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of equipment
• Maintain accurate documentation of completed work and system performance
• Collaborate with other technicians, property managers, and vendors
• Provide courteous and professional service to tenants, residents, and building staff
• Follow all safety standards and building codes

Additional Responsibilities by Level:
Technician I:
• Perform basic repairs on plumbing fixtures, lighting, doors, and minor HVAC components
• Support senior technicians on more complex tasks
• Learn and grow into independent assignments
Technician II:
• Conduct more advanced repairs and system diagnostics
• Lead certain maintenance tasks with minimal supervision
• Assist with larger projects or multi-system issues
Technician III:
• Perform complex troubleshooting on electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems
• Independently handle high-priority work and emergency repairs
• Utilize Boilers License for equipment requiring certified oversight
• Provide expertise on advanced maintenance methods and system performance

Qualifications (Placement Based on Experience):
Technician I:
• 6 months–2 years of general building maintenance experience
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and HVAC fundamentals
Technician II:
• 2–5 years of maintenance or facilities experience
• Broad skill set across HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical
• EPA/CPO/boiler experience preferred
Technician III:
• 5+ years of advanced building or facilities maintenance
• Strong working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
• Valid Boilers License required

All Levels Must Have:
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insurable driving record
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
• Ability to provide basic tools (drill, tape measure, screwdrivers, hammer, etc.)
• Ability to pass a criminal background check

Working Conditions:
• Frequent travel to multiple building sites
• Indoor and outdoor work in all Minnesota seasons
• Physically demanding role with constant movement
• Lifting requirements:
– Occasional: 50–100 lbs
– Frequent: 25–50 lbs
– Constant: 5–20 lbs
• Frequent standing, bending, squatting, and occasional climbing
• Exposure to building maintenance environments, equipment, and weather conditions
