Salary:
$22.20-$26.80/HR

Description:
Great River Energy (GRE) is seeking a Communications and Marketing Intern at our headquarters in Maple Grove, MN (hybrid) to assist with developing marketing strategies and executing plans through digital and print communications as well as social media. The communications and marketing intern will educate key audiences about Great River Energy, electric cooperatives, the electric system, and smart electricity use. The successful candidate will understand the importance of customer service and collaborating with partners inside and outside the organization. The successful candidate will also support the communications and marketing department through various other assignments and responsibilities.
 
Job Responsibilities:
  • Writing, editing, designing, and proofing communications targeted to our internal and external audiences.
  • Will use digital tools to create and edit content for communication channels.  This could include writing social media content, internal and external newsletter articles, and other types of content; and creating videos and digital content that can be shared internally and externally.  
  • Assist with photography and event planning.
Requirements:
Must be enrolled in college and working towards a bachelor’s degree in communications, print/broadcast journalism, public relations, or theater.
 
  • Familiarity with social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tiktok)
  • Experience in web development, which includes creation of content and overall look and feel of the website.  
  • Skills in WordPress and Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to communicate in effective manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks
Physical Requirements:
Much of the work will be in a normal office/hybrid environment. Office work involves working at a computer station for extended periods of time.  Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job.

Duration of the internship will be FT during Summer 2023 in a hybrid work environment.
