Salary$85k - $100k DOE

Company Info
Our Customer is embarking upon several large multi-year regional build-out efforts and the Asset Data Controls and Analytics team is looking to augment the current team by hiring a Data Controls contractor to assist across the team’s materials and asset processes. The duration of this need is expected to be a minimum of one year.
Description
This position requires knowledge, experience, and fluency in the domains of electric and telecommunication materials, financial and asset accounting, business process controls, process optimization, and stakeholder training. Applicants with business administration process leadership experience gained in a small to medium-sized construction or manufacturing setting may possess the desired combination of experience. 

Ideal candidates will have a financial analyst background with a strong understanding of finance and accounting and will be able to mine data, analyze data and use visualization tools to communication information to others.  

Job Responsibilities:
The Data Controls contractor will provide data and process controls support across the capital project, operations, maintenance, asset, and supply-chain management processes. Several major responsibilities of this position include: 
  • Prepare monthly customer maintenance service invoices 
  • Material and service requisitioning during normal business operations and emergency restoration activities 
  • Review transmission system asset change transactions and follow-up as required 
  • Perform self-directed asset and materials process quality assurance checks, notifying stakeholders of deficiencies discovered, and providing stakeholder training as needs dictate 
  • Proactively collaborate with stakeholders and process owners to identify and realize ways to optimize critical business processes 
  • Implement new analysis solutions to support stakeholder self-service (self-developed, and through collaboration with others)
Requirements
Education and Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or supply-chain with at least four years of related targeted domain experience is highly preferred. A two-year technical/business college degree with ideal targeted experience may be considered. 
  • Minimum of four years data controls oversight and transactional support in a fast-paced, supply-chain, customer invoicing, or asset management function within an electrical engineering or construction business setting 
  • Direct and independent compliance audit support 
  • Data and process analysis and optimization 
  • Stakeholder process training (development and delivery) 
 
KSA’s:
  • Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles 
  • Knowledge of budgeting, cost estimating and financial analysis techniques 
  • Knowledge of relational database concepts and structure 
  • Ability to preparing complex spreadsheets including creating macros, complex formulas, calculations, and reports (utilizing relational databases, creating tables, joins, ad-hoc reporting, and data mining functions) 
  • Advanced proficiency with data mining, analysis, and visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Access, Power BI, Cognos Analytics, or comparable) 
  • Ability to interpret and transform complex contract language into billing processes and analytical reporting 
  • Logical problem-solving and ability to thoroughly research issues, analyze, interpret, and model large volumes of diverse types of information 
  • Excellent data management, communication, and organizational skills 
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential information 
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, and establish credibility and trust 
  • Ability to respond in a timely manner with tact, diplomacy, and professionalism 
  • Ability to develop and conduct presentations and training programs for individuals and large groups 
  • Ability to communicate clearly through written and verbal communications, adapting to the needs of diverse audiences 
  • Ability to work in a well-organized, self-directed manner, driven with a sense of urgency 
  • Ability to be innovative, business-focused, continuously learning, while maintaining high productivity standards 
  • Ability and responsibility to follow established security and safety procedures 
 
Physical Requirements
This position is a candidate for a hybrid work mode. The individual will normally report to the Elk River facility for a set number of days each week with the option to work remotely on the remaining days once the individual has demonstrated the minimum level of required proficiency in their role and assignments and ability to develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships through virtual engagement.  This position’s responsibilities may occasionally require the individual to report to other facilities.
