Job Summary:
We are seeking a forward-thinking Production Manager to lead and coordinate all fabrication and production efforts for custom-built exhibit projects. This role oversees people, processes, and materials to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and with exceptional craftsmanship. The ideal candidate brings a blend of hands-on leadership, operational expertise, and creative problem-solving skills. You will collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and fabrication teams to manage workflows, scheduling, and vendor partnerships—ensuring each project meets quality expectations, stays on budget, and is delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities:
Staff Management
• Lead, mentor, and conduct performance reviews for CAD Detailers, Estimator, Purchaser, Shop Manager, and Artistic Fabrication Manager
• Hire, train, and schedule full-time, part-time, temporary, and subcontracted staff
• Establish and track productivity goals for fabrication teams

Scheduling & Capacity Planning
• Forecast staffing needs and maintain production schedules based on team input
• Use Smartsheet to track and adjust shop performance
• Collaborate with Project Managers to meet milestones and resolve delays

• Prioritize workloads and expedite high-priority components
• Improve operational procedures while upholding safety and quality standards
• Review CAD drawings to ensure alignment with estimates and design intent
• Track rework and warranty costs; identify and report downtime issues
• Enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment
• Oversee project workflow across CAD, CNC, wood shop, 3D printing, and artistic fabrication
• Prioritize workloads and expedite high-priority components
• Improve operational procedures while upholding safety and quality standards
• Review CAD drawings to ensure alignment with estimates and design intent

Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination
• Solicit and evaluate bids for outsourced fabrication
• Coordinate building modifications and procurement of specialty parts
• Negotiate pricing, delivery timelines, and terms
• Monitor subcontractor performance and quality

Project Support & Logistics
• Review active designs for completeness; provide input on materials and fabrication methods
• Work with Estimator to allocate labor across fabrication elements
• Assist with shipping logistics, including equipment and vehicle planning

• Support and promote company culture through collaboration and involvement in internal initiatives

Qualifications:
• 5+ years of fabrication experience (exhibits, architectural millwork, or custom retail preferred)
• Proven experience managing production teams in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
• Skilled in reading CAD drawings, blueprints, and MEP systems
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace
• Experienced in cost control, vendor management, and project oversight
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
