Fusion II Technician

Status: Full Time (Direct Hire)
Work Type: In person
Pay: $24/hour
Shift: 1st shift 7am–4:30pm

Job Summary:
Our client, a national leader in water, sewer, storm drain, and fire protection distribution, is seeking a qualified Fusion Technician. The Fusion Technician will install and repair custom HDPE piping systems using fusion welding techniques and will be responsible for the safe operation of company vehicles, equipment maintenance, and quality assurance in the field. This is a hands-on, field-based role involving technical skill, independent judgment, and a commitment to safety and service.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform electro-fusion and structural welding of HDPE piping systems.
• Determine the appropriate methods and equipment for each installation or repair.
• Provide custom HDPE piping solutions to contractors and municipalities.
• Transport fusion equipment and supplies to various job sites using a company vehicle.
• Operate forklifts and field equipment as necessary.
• Inspect and maintain fusion equipment to ensure proper functionality.
• Communicate with customers to assess project requirements and provide on-site support.
• Respond to 24-hour on-call repair emergencies as assigned.
• Ensure that all work meets established quality control standards and safety protocols.

Qualifications:
• 5–7 years of relevant experience preferred in HDPE fusion, piping, or a related field.
• Technical certification or associate degree is preferred in some regions.
• Experience with electro-fusion and structural welding techniques.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Able to operate forklifts and various field equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, communication skills, and customer service orientation.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision and exercise sound judgment.

Working Conditions:
• Regular exposure to construction and industrial environments, including temperature extremes, moving machinery, and fumes.
• Physically demanding role requiring lifting over 50 lbs, frequent standing, walking, climbing, and material handling.
• On-call availability required for emergency field repairs.
• Overnight travel required less than 10% of the time.
• Compliance with all OSHA and company safety standards is required.
