Description
We are seeking an IT network admin Intern to assist both our network services and IT operations departments with daily tasks supporting critical infrastructure at our facility in Maple Grove, MN. This intern position will provide operations analysts and network engineers with support to monitor and analyze performance data, assist with documentation and asset updates, and assigned specific project tasks helping with network refresh projects within GRE.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Respond to degradation or outage detections from our monitoring and alerting tools following procedures and escalation protocols. 
  • Daily monitoring of operations mailbox. Ticket and handle requests following procedures.
  • Analyze network performance issues or anomalies defined by network engineers. 
  • Complete asset inventory reviews to identify gaps in data and partner with appropriate team members to address and update gaps found. 
  • Create refresh and small project tickets in our work management system on behalf of engineers and analysts to support larger project efforts.
  • Partner with other IT operations and network engineering staff to support current projects and daily tasks related to network infrastructure.
  • Coordinate small IT projects of limited scope and complexity and participate in larger IT projects to meet established schedules and budgets. This would include projects such as network equipment refresh, network asset data clean up, or network performance analysis.
Requirements
Must be enrolled in college in a network related curriculum.  
  • Experience in IT with basic computer, application, and networking knowledge to understand and complete basic network management and operations tasks. IT work experience is preferred, but not required.  
  • General knowledge of computer systems, hardware, and software applications. 
  • Must have a general understanding and knowledge of basic networking principles and designs.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and identify when escalation is necessary to complete assignments. 
  • Communicating effectively with technical level and non-technical personnel at all levels. 
  • Must have analytical, interpretive, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
Physical Reqs
Much of the work will be in a normal office environment with possible hybrid work arrangement after training and requiring leadership approval. Work involves working at a computer station for long periods of time. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job

We provide competitive internship pay. 
Duration of the internship will be PT during the school year and FT during Fall/Winter/Spring Breaks
