Job Summary:
The Plate Saw Operator plays a vital role in daily plant operations by ensuring precise aluminum plate cutting and efficient order fulfillment. This position requires attention to detail, strong math and measuring skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. Key Responsibilities:
Order Fulfillment
- Identify and select correct inventory for cutting jobs
- Calculate material requirements and select appropriate aluminum plate
- Operate and monitor plate saw equipment to ensure quality and precision
- Complete and finalize order tickets in the ERP system
- Package completed orders securely for shipment
- Organize completed orders by driver route for efficient delivery
Inventory Management
- Maintain organized inventory zones to optimize material flow
- Return usable drops to proper inventory locations after each job
- Participate in scheduled inventory counts and assist with cycle counting accuracy
Warehouse Duties
- Maintain safety and cleanliness in the work area at all times
- Remove debris and packaging materials to keep floors clear
- Assist with occasional loading and unloading of shipments
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Strong math skills and ability to use tape measures, calipers, and micrometers
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or plant environment preferred
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to work overtime as needed
Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
- Frequent standing, bending, twisting, and reaching throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
