Job Summary
The Saw Operator is responsible for accurately measuring and cutting metal materials according to job specifications. This position supports daily production needs and requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to follow instructions closely. The ideal candidate is dependable, eager to learn, and comfortable working as part of a small team in a fast-paced shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure metal materials and cut to required specifications (within 1/8” or 1/16”)
- Operate saw equipment safely and efficiently
- Verify measurements prior to cutting to ensure accuracy
- Handle and stage materials for cutting and production flow
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all safety procedures and work instructions
- Work closely with a teammate to complete daily production goals
Qualifications
- Entry-level to 1 year of manufacturing or shop experience preferred
- Must be able to read a tape measure (evaluation will be completed in person)
- Reliable with consistent attendance
- Willingness to learn and take direction
- Team-oriented and able to work effectively in a two-person setup
Physical Requirements
- Standing and moving throughout the entire shift
- Ability to lift 80–100 lbs occasionally (1–2 times per day; assistance available)
- Must be in good physical condition to perform hands-on material handling
