Maintenance Technician – Property & Facilities
 Status: Temporary
 Work Type: In Person
Shift: 1st shift 8am-4pm
Pay: $26.45-$28.50
 
Position Overview:
 We’re hiring a dependable and capable Maintenance Technician to support the ongoing upkeep and operation of campgrounds and facilities. This hands-on role combines general maintenance, custodial work, seasonal groundskeeping, and equipment repair—all within a mission-driven environment focused on empowering youth through safe, enriching experiences. Key Responsibilities:
 
  1. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on camp buildings, structures, and infrastructure.
  2. Maintain cleanliness and functionality in cabins, dormitories, offices, and shared spaces.
  3. Repair and service camp equipment such as docks, bicycles, and outdoor power tools.
  4. Complete seasonal outdoor tasks including mowing, trimming, snow removal, and road upkeep.
  5. Inspect HVAC systems, change air filters, and ensure proper equipment performance.
  6. Conduct regular safety and functionality inspections, report issues to the Property Manager.
  7. Collaborate with leadership to prioritize projects, plan scopes, and anticipate costs.
  8. Display positive leadership and communication to external and internal customers.
  9. Coordinate with contractors and vendors on larger maintenance or improvement projects.
  10. Patrol the grounds to ensure safety and deter vandalism or property damage.
Qualifications:
  1. Associate degree or technical certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or a related field preferred.
  2. At least 3 years of hands-on property/facility maintenance experience, or an equivalent mix of training and experience.
  3. Proficient with power tools and equipment: tractors, skid steers, mowers, chainsaws, etc.
  4. Strong understanding of safety standards, property inspections, and hazard identification.
  5. Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and smartphone-based communication tools.
  6. Clear, professional communication with staff, volunteers, and vendors.
  7. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and be on-call for emergencies.
  8. Capable of working independently in outdoor environments year-round.
 
Physical Requirements:
  1. Ability to lift/move 50+ lbs, climb, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  2. Visual and auditory proficiency for communication and safety awareness.
  3. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  4. Ability to travel between camp properties and attend offsite meetings as needed.
