Position Overview:
We’re hiring a dependable and capable Maintenance Technician to support the ongoing upkeep and operation of campgrounds and facilities. This hands-on role combines general maintenance, custodial work, seasonal groundskeeping, and equipment repair—all within a mission-driven environment focused on empowering youth through safe, enriching experiences. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on camp buildings, structures, and infrastructure.
- Maintain cleanliness and functionality in cabins, dormitories, offices, and shared spaces.
- Repair and service camp equipment such as docks, bicycles, and outdoor power tools.
- Complete seasonal outdoor tasks including mowing, trimming, snow removal, and road upkeep.
- Inspect HVAC systems, change air filters, and ensure proper equipment performance.
- Conduct regular safety and functionality inspections, report issues to the Property Manager.
- Collaborate with leadership to prioritize projects, plan scopes, and anticipate costs.
- Display positive leadership and communication to external and internal customers.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors on larger maintenance or improvement projects.
- Patrol the grounds to ensure safety and deter vandalism or property damage.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or a related field preferred.
- At least 3 years of hands-on property/facility maintenance experience, or an equivalent mix of training and experience.
- Proficient with power tools and equipment: tractors, skid steers, mowers, chainsaws, etc.
- Strong understanding of safety standards, property inspections, and hazard identification.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and smartphone-based communication tools.
- Clear, professional communication with staff, volunteers, and vendors.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and be on-call for emergencies.
- Capable of working independently in outdoor environments year-round.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift/move 50+ lbs, climb, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
- Visual and auditory proficiency for communication and safety awareness.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel between camp properties and attend offsite meetings as needed.
