Job Summary
We are hiring a Waste Treatment Technician to support manufacturing operations by ensuring all effluent and rinsing processes are maintained within acceptable, established parameters and compliant with regulatory agencies and MFI requirements. This role plays a critical part in maintaining water quality, managing waste treatment systems, and supporting environmental compliance in a manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain the waste treatment system to ensure good discharge water quality.
• Perform and record daily equipment and chemistry checks.
• Analyze discharge water three times daily using Atomic Absorption (AA) equipment.
• Change out process bath solutions as required by production.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the waste treatment area.
• Refill and maintain water softeners.
• Perform weekly inventory of waste treatment chemicals.
• Ensure labeling and storage compliance in cooperation with the EHS Director.
• Perform batch treatment on spent chemistries.
• Transfer spent chemistries to corresponding tanks.
• Operate gold, silver, and nickel recovery processes.
• Conduct light maintenance on waste treatment equipment.
• Organize and maintain waste treatment supplies.
• Record daily water meter readings.

• Working knowledge of plating tank chemistry and compatibility.
• Understanding of water flow and waste treatment system operations.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform R&D both theoretically and practically.
• Ability to move heavy loads using a pallet jack.
• Ability to operate and move full 55-gallon drums.
• Reliable attendance and time management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Ability to lift and move up to 75 lbs as needed.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently without supervision.
• Understanding of water flow and waste treatment system operations.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform R&D both theoretically and practically.
• Ability to move heavy loads using a pallet jack.
• Ability to operate and move full 55-gallon drums.

• Constant speech/hearing for communication.
