Job Description

Job Title: MIG Fabrication Welder
Status: Full Time (Long-Term Temporary)
Work Type: In Person
Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday–Friday | 2:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.
Location: Brooklyn Park, MN
Pay: $28.00+ per hour (DOE)

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced MIG Fabrication Welder to perform high-quality welding, layout, and fit-up work in a heavy manufacturing environment. In this role, you will weld in all positions according to engineering drawings and AWS standards while supporting fabrication workflow, material movement, and production goals. The ideal candidate brings strong welding skills, blueprint reading ability, and a commitment to safety, accuracy, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:
• Place safety first and follow all company safety standards and procedures
• Weld components to AWS standards using MIG processes and engineering prints
• Interpret metric drawings with GD&T to set up fixtures, tack, and weld components
• Use welding guns, cutting torches, carbon arc tools, grinders, chisels, and other fabrication equipment
• Perform grinding, flame cutting, and arc gouging as required
• Prioritize and coordinate tasks to meet production schedules
• Support movement of materials through fabrication and paint departments
• Maintain accurate electronic and manual production and labor documentation
• Operate robotic welding systems and perform robotic safety checks
• Identify, document, and communicate fabrication issues and recommend solutions
• Work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision
• Perform additional duties as needed

Requirements:
• MIG welding experience or completion of a welding technical program
• Ability to read fabrication blueprints and engineering drawings

Desired Qualifications:
• Experience using heavy crane equipment
• Proficiency with fabrication hand tools such as grinders and chisels
• Experience with cutting torches and carbon arc gouging
• Understanding of GD&T
• Ability to read standard work instructions and submit improvement ideas
• Basic computer skills for entering production transactions
• Familiarity with metric measurement systems

Physical Requirements:
• Exposure to welding fumes and noise levels of 85 db+
• Ability to operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and hoists
• Lift up to 35 lbs frequently
• Work at various heights and climb equipment, ladders, and lifts
• Stand for 8-hour shifts with limited breaks
• Work in environments with fluctuating temperatures
• Possible exposure to magnets affecting medical devices
• Kneeling, squatting, crawling, and working in tight or awkward positions
• Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive movements
• Fine motor skills and use of tools such as welders, grinders, air tools, pliers, and reamers
• Required PPE: hearing protection, safety glasses, steel-toe/metatarsal boots, and welding protective gear (jacket, chaps, hood, grinding shield, etc.)
