Job Summary:
The CNC Lathe Machinist is responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC lathe equipment to produce high-quality, close-tolerance parts. This role is ideal for a dependable machinist who enjoys hands-on work, problem solving, and collaborating in a team-focused shop environment. The position offers stability, variety in materials and parts, and opportunities to cross-train on additional machines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes
• Perform offsets, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting
• Conduct in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and tolerance requirements
• Machine a variety of materials including plastics, aluminum, tool steel, and exotic alloys
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Collaborate with team members to improve part quality and machining processes
• Demonstrate strong attendance, reliability, and self-motivation
• Support cross-training efforts and assist with other machining operations as needed
• Perform offsets, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting

Qualifications:
• Previous CNC lathe experience required
• 2-year vocational degree in machining or equivalent hands-on experience
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tolerances
• Experience with setup, offsets, and basic machine troubleshooting
• Familiarity with Mastercam preferred (not required)
• Comfortable working with computers and basic software
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Positive, team-oriented attitude
