Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Electronics Technician for a temp opportunity in Eden Prairie, MN. This role involves inspecting, testing, and repairing printed circuit boards (PCBs) to the component level, as well as performing light mechanical assembly. Ideal candidates will possess a 2-year electronics degree, hands-on repair experience, and strong soldering and diagnostic skills. Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect printed circuit boards for manufacturers’ quality standards.
- Test PCBs using both automatic and manual testers.
- Troubleshoot and repair PCBs to the component level.
- Perform light mechanical assembly and basic fabrication tasks.
- Maintain high quality standards while performing rework and SMT repairs.
- Accurately interpret test results using an oscilloscope and digital multimeter (DMM).
- Document test procedures and repair activities.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals.
Qualifications:
- 2-year Electronics degree required.
- Experience in surface mount technology (SMT) repairs and rework.
- Proficient soldering skills with ability to perform precision component-level repairs.
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes and DMMs.
- Mechanically inclined with hands-on troubleshooting ability.
- Familiar with serial communications (preferred).
- Comfortable working on PCs and navigating Microsoft Windows.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation.
Working Conditions:
- Indoor, electronics lab or manufacturing environment.
- Use of hand tools, soldering equipment, and test instrumentation.
- Requires fine motor skills and good visual acuity.
- Clean, organized workspace.
