Job Summary
We are seeking a versatile Building Technician II with 2–5 years of maintenance experience for a temp-to-hire role in Golden Valley, MN. This position provides a mix of responsibilities, including support across multiple client sites or dedicated oversight of specific locations. It is a hands-on role suited for candidates with strong technical skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance, offering both variety and ownership in daily work.

This position provides a mix of responsibilities, including support across multiple client sites or dedicated oversight of specific locations. It is a hands-on role suited for candidates with strong technical skills in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance, offering both variety and ownership in daily work.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to maintenance work orders from dispatch and travel to client sites as assigned.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components.
- Assist in the installation and decommissioning of equipment.
- Maintain clear documentation of work completed and equipment serviced.
- Provide excellent customer service to tenants, residents, and property managers.
- Maintain a professional, courteous demeanor when interacting with clients and team members.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues as needed.
- Collaborate with other technicians and vendors to complete larger repair projects efficiently.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities, or similar hands-on role.
- Broad skill set including plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and electrical work.
- Experience with boilers, CPO, or EPA certifications is preferred.
- Must have valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and be insurable.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Must supply own basic tools (power drill, tape measure, screwdrivers, hammer, etc.).
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
Working Conditions
- Frequent travel to various buildings and job sites around the metro.
- Constant physical activity including standing, bending, and lifting.
- Lifting requirements:
- Occasional: 50–100 lbs
- Frequent: 25–50 lbs
- Constant: 5–20 lbs
- Occasional climbing, crouching, and work in varying weather or indoor building conditions.
