Job Summary
The Receiving Associate plays a key role in warehouse operations by ensuring incoming freight is accurately received, labeled, and processed. This temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for detail-oriented individuals with prior warehouse experience who enjoy staying active and working with inventory systems. Success in this role requires accuracy, reliability, and the ability to follow procedures in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Use RF scanners to accurately scan and receive incoming freight
- Break down boxes and prepare materials for stocking or further processing
- Label incoming shipments and products for tracking and inventory control
- Count, verify, and scan items with strong attention to detail
- Follow written and verbal instructions in English
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Support general warehouse and receiving operations as needed
Qualifications
- Previous warehouse or material handling experience required
- Receiving and/or shipping experience strongly preferred
- RF scan gun experience required
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
- Steel-toe boots required
- High school diploma or GED preferred
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced warehouse environment
- Extended periods of standing and walking
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 40 lbs periodically
- Exposure to warehouse noise, traffic, and material handling equipment
