Job Summary:
The Lead Welder plays a hands-on leadership role within the fabrication shop, overseeing daily welding operations while performing high-quality MIG and TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel components. This position is responsible for supervising welding projects, guiding co-welders, and ensuring all finished parts meet specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate is an experienced welder with strong technical skills, blueprint fluency, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced production environment.

This position is responsible for supervising welding projects, guiding co-welders, and ensuring all finished parts meet specifications and quality standards. The ideal candidate is an experienced welder with strong technical skills, blueprint fluency, and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel components
• Supervise welding projects and provide direction to co-welders
• Communicate regularly with the Plant Manager to prioritize welding needs
• Ensure welded parts meet specifications before and after welding
• Assist with assembly of welded components as needed
• Maintain compliance with all safety and quality standards
• Inspect finished work for accuracy, consistency, and craftsmanship
• Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances
• Support shop workflow by adapting to changing priorities
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Perform additional fabrication or shop duties as assigned
• Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel components

• Proven MIG and TIG welding experience required
• Previous sheet metal or fabrication industry experience preferred
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Proficiency using calipers, squares, protractors, and other measuring tools
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs repeatedly
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Willingness to work overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed
• Ability to shift tasks within the shop based on workload
• Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
• Minimum of 3 years of experience welding aluminum and stainless steel
• Proven MIG and TIG welding experience required

Working Conditions:
