Description: | To safely layout, fit-up, and weld in all position according to company drawings, specifications, and workmanship standards. 1. Responsible for putting safety first with an aspirational goal to prevent all injuries, occupational illnesses and safety incidents 2. Weld components per American Welding Society (AWS) standards and engineering/manufacturing prints and documentation 3. Interpret metric drawings that use geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) to setup fixtures, tack and weld components in horizontal and flat positions using welding gun, cutting torches, carbon arc, and other fabrication tools (i.e grinder, chisel, tip cleaner), including the use of grinding, flame cutting and arc gouging equipment 4. Coordinate and prioritize work to meet production schedules 5. Support the movement of materials for fabrication and paint areas 6. Maintain electronically and manually documentation for labor hour records, process work order and production documentation 7. Responsible for the operation of robots including robot area safety and robotic checks (torch, straightness, harness inspection, etc) 8. Take initiative to identify, document, communicate and correct problems related to fabrication, report discrepancies, and recommend solutions 9. Work and interact effectively in a team environment with limited supervision 10. Perform other tasks as needed |
Requirements: | 1. Welding experience or in the process of completing or have completed certified trade school/technical degree in welding 2. Read fabrication blueprints/engineering drawings Desired Qualifications: 1. Heavy crane equipment experience 2. Experience with basic fabrication hand tools and equipment (i.e. grinder, chisel, tip cleaner) 3. Experience with cutting torches and/or carbon arc (gouging) 4. Understanding of geometric dimension and tolerances (GD&T) 5. Read standard work, prints, and write continuous improvement cards 6. Utilize computers for production transactions 7. Understanding of the metric measurement systems |
Physical Requirements: | 1. Exposure to welding fumes 2. Noise levels of 85db or greater 3. Operate overhead cranes, jib cranes, and hoists 4. Lift up to 35lbs frequently 5. Work at multiple heights 6. Climb on equipment, machines, ladders, man lifts and various step stools 7. Stand for a minimum of 8 hour shifts with minimal breaks 8. Work in environment with frequently changing temperatures 9. Exposure to magnets that may impact medical devices 10. Kneel, squat, and crawl on knees 11. Work in tight spaces and in awkward positions, including forward reach, lateral reach, squat, overhead reaching, twisting and forward head and rotation of neck. 12. Repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling rotating 13. Use of fine motor skills 14. Use of hand tools including welder, grinder, air tools, pliers, reamers, etc. **Required Personal Protective Equipment: hearing protection, safety glasses, steel toed/metatarsal footgear, and protective welding clothing and equipment including jackets, chaps, helmet, grinding shield, etc. #Ind2 |
