Mechanical/Technical Sales Engineer
Status: Full Time (Direct Hire)
Work Type: In Person
Shift: 1st Shift
Pay: $65K - 72.5K

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and driven Mechanical/Technical Sales Engineer to join a well-established infrastructure solutions company in Burnsville, MN. This is a great opportunity ideal for a candidate with 2+ years of sales experience and a solid foundation in mechanical systems. The right candidate will combine technical aptitude with consultative sales skills and a passion for delivering customized solutions to clients across diverse industries.
This is a customer-focused, relationship-building role that involves technical consulting, solution development, and new business generation. The role offers an exciting compensation structure with aggressive commission plan, along with a company vehicle and outstanding benefits.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with engineers, contractors, distributors, VARs, and end-users.
  • Conduct technical sales calls and presentations to promote products and services.
  • Assess customer needs and provide custom solutions that align with technical and business objectives.
  • Establish and execute a strategic sales plan to grow your territory.
  • Drive specifications with engineers and decision-makers.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across the assigned region.
  • Organize site visits and coordinate with internal teams to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Deliver presentations using PowerPoint and other tools to explain technical products clearly.
  • Interpret one-line diagrams and electrical specifications.
  • Travel regionally to meet with customers and attend industry events or training as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of sales experience, ideally in a technical or mechanical industry.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems.
  • New graduates with a Mechanical Engineering degree may be considered.
  • Ability to understand and explain complex technical systems to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Oracle, NetSuite, or equivalent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned region.
Working Conditions:
  • Office-based with regular travel to client sites and regional events.
  • Must be comfortable with in-person presentations and on-site consultations.
