Description | *~* If Interested in applying, please submit your resume via email to: Jobs@myvisionco.com *~* General Summary: Great River Energy is seeking an occupational safety intern in Elk River, MN, to assist in the development and administration of safety policies and programs in conjunction with the safety and human performance team to ensure a safe working environment for all employees in the transmission division. Job Responsibilities: Safety Program Management (70%): Develop and implement occupational safety programs that support a safe work environment.
Field Activities (30%): Participate in field site visits and activities to understand work practices and help identify improvements.
Communications: Maintain open communication with the safety & human performance team, other company safety personnel, and division leaders. |
Requirements | Requirements: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Must be enrolled in a degree program in occupational safety, engineering or related field at an accredited institution. Previous experience in safety, training, or construction is a plus. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize time and workload in order to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to build and maintain effective work relationships with co-workers and external customers. Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations. Ability to conduct research and interpret safety policies, procedures and regulations. |
Physical Requirements | Much of the work will be in a normal office environment with some work being performed in the field at construction sites. Office work involves working at a computer station for long periods of time. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Hybrid work options may be applicable after a training period. We offer competitive internship pay. The duration of this internship will be PT during the school year and fulltime during the summer and breaks. |
