Job Description

Job Title: Paint Technician
Status: Temp-to-Hire
Work Type: In Person
Shift: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
Location: Blaine, MN
Pay: $20- $22/per hour

Job Summary:

The Paint Technician is responsible for performing hands-on painting, staining, and finishing of millwork products to meet quality and production standards. This role focuses on spray application, material preparation, color matching, and light assembly work in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate has experience with paint or stain applications, strong attention to detail, and takes pride in producing high-quality finished products.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform painting and staining of wood and steel millwork products
Mix paints and stains to match required colors and specifications
Operate spray guns, spray booths, and related finishing equipment
Prepare materials for finishing, including sanding, masking, and cleaning
Inspect finished products to ensure quality and consistency
Assist with light assembly and shop tasks as needed
Package, crate, and box finished products for shipment
Prepare shipping labels and documentation as required
Operate a forklift as needed (training provided if necessary)
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
Follow all safety procedures and company quality standards
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Experience with painting, staining, or finishing (preferred)
Ability to operate spray equipment with a steady hand and attention to detail
Basic math skills and ability to follow work instructions
Moderate computer and typing skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be eligible for U.S. employment (I-9 compliant)

Working Conditions:

Frequent standing, bending, and movement throughout the workday
Ability to lift 5 lbs repetitively, 25 lbs regularly, and up to 70 lbs frequently
Ability to reach materials on shelves and occasionally climb stairs
Work performed in a shop environment with exposure to paint, stains, and finishing materials
Use of spray equipment, hand tools, and forklift
