Company Info: | Set up, control, and process operating lines to plate various metal substrates with the required coatings in order to meet the requirements and specifications called for by the customers. |
Description: | 1. Work cooperatively with production supervisors and quality personnel to insure parts are plated correctly 2. Read work orders to determine size and composition of objects to be plated (this includes the type, thickness and location of the parts to be plated) 3. Perform daily preventative maintenance to insure all equipment is ready to use prior to starting plating processes (this includes temperatures and levels of all baths to be used) 4. Observe safe plating practices and good housekeeping in performance of duties 5. Understand hazards associated with work activities and abide by established procedures in handling and use of all chemicals 6. Follow all rules and regulations described in the company handbook and AWAIR PROGRAM 7. Change out chemicals and filters as per the chemistry department and waste treatment 8. Develop and maintain written procedures for all plated product old and new 9. Manage labeling and storage compliance in cooperation with the EHS Director 10. Manage and maintain SPC charts as needed for plating Electroless Nickel 11. Report any unsafe conditions to safety committee and / or maintenance personal |
Requirements: | 1. Working knowledge of plating tank chemistry and compatibility 2. Process and understand titrations 3. Perform basic math equations 4. Perform troubleshooting and R&D, theoretically and physically 5. See color metric changes in titration analysis 6. Maintain a regular and reliable attendance record 7. Manage multiple jobs at the same time |
Physical Requirements: | 1. Constantly stand/walk to move racks and barrels on plating line 2. Occasionally sit to fill out paper work 3. Lift/carry 0-15lbs constantly, up to 25 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally Equipment Used 1. Required safety equipment includes glasses, aprons, boots, face shields and gloves 2. Standard laboratory measurement equipment such as beakers, pipettes, gram scale, graduated cylinders, etc. 3. Various sizes of plating barrels and racks 4. Calculators for math equations 5. Timers and or stopwatches 6. Statistical process control charts 7. Rectifiers to apply current to parts |
