Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Industrial Painter to apply liquid paint to a variety of metal products in accordance with customer and manufacturer specifications. This role ensures finished products meet quality and performance standards and supports the full painting and finishing process. Ideal candidates will have experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment and a commitment to teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Painting & Finishing:
- Apply liquid paint per product specifications using approved techniques and procedures.
- Mix and reduce paint according to manufacturer product data sheets.
- Perform quality checks to ensure paint finish meets required standards.
- Conduct color changes, clean spray guns, pumps, and pressure pots as needed.
- Troubleshoot basic paint-related issues and maintain a clean painting environment.
Loading / Unloading:
- Load and unload materials onto a moving overhead conveyor.
- Inspect and prep materials; read prints to identify paint coverage areas.
- Repackage finished goods to meet customer shipment standards.
- Use hand tools to repair defective materials.
- Assist with material handling and workflow support across the paint line.
Safety & Compliance:
- Wear a half-mask respirator and follow all fit and use requirements.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and participate in safety training.
- Support clean workspaces and scheduled maintenance activities.
Continuous Improvement:
- Participate in 5S initiatives, process documentation, and kaizen events.
- Support company-wide efforts to drive quality, efficiency, and innovation.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience with liquid painting processes (industrial, manufacturing, or automotive) preferred.
- Basic math, unit conversion, and computer proficiency.
- Strong attention to detail and safety.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and paint specifications.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment independently or in a team.
Working Conditions:
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs. frequently, 75 lbs. occasionally with assistance).
- Use of hand tools, power tools, and respirator equipment required.
- Visual demands include close, distance, color vision, and depth perception.
- Physical tasks include stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling as needed.
