Description
  • Perform Receiving Inspection - Performs receiving inspection on raw materials and components supplied by external suppliers or customers. Includes data base maintenance and inspection sheet preparation.
  • Perform In-Process Product Audits, Configuration Audits, and Product Audits - Performs in-process product audits and configuration audits on components manufactured in-house. Conducts product audits per the requirements of the Quality System Manual.
  • Operator Self Inspection - Supports Operator Self Inspection (OSI) needs for components manufactured in-house.
  • Assure Product Meets Performance Tests - Performs product audits by witnessing the assembly and test processes for completed product, assuring product meets specified performance tests. This should include METI/KHK tests such as minimum wall thickness, air tightness, and proof pressure tests.
  • Perform Mechanical Inspections - Performs mechanical inspections and offers technical support at suppliers or customers facility as assigned.
  • Provide Training - Provides training to machinists and other inspectors on the proper set-up and use of inspection equipment, related standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Provide Back-Up Support for Gage Technician - Provides back-up support for Gage Technician by preparing gage requests for operators and vendors.
  • Productivity and Efficiency - Uses total quality techniques, including team participation, to recommend ways to eliminate potential quality problems. Improve procedures and work instructions to improve personal and department effectiveness.
  • Quality Assurance Representative - Acts as Quality Assurance representative on teams such as ECO Committee, MEC, etc. as assigned.
  • Apparent or Assigned - Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
Requirements
  • Normal vision, hearing, dexterity, and use of limbs.
  • No allergies to oils, solvents or solutions.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of advanced mechanical inspection methods using gages, fixtures, surface plate equipment, standard measuring equipment and profilometer.
  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and interpret all applicable blueprints and specifications to include
    geometric tolerancing and dimensioning.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and apply machine shop mathematics to include geometry and trigonometry.
  • Basic knowledge of standard sampling plans.
  • Basic knowledge of metal finishing and metallurgy.
  • Basic knowledge of screw thread technology.
  • Basic knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal/written) effectively with customers, suppliers and employees.

  • Physical ability to lift, carry, or maneuver 44 pounds.
