Job Summary:
Our client is a leader in aerospace and defense manufacturing, is seeking skilled and detail-oriented Quality Inspectors to join our team in Elk River, MN. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that incoming materials, in-process parts, and finished products meet exact customer and regulatory specifications. The Quality Inspector will use a wide range of tools and equipment, including CMM and OGP, to uphold the highest levels of product integrity and documentation compliance. Openings are available on all shifts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming raw materials, mechanical parts, and assemblies per purchase order requirements and specifications.
- Perform comprehensive first article inspections to validate processes before production runs.
- Conduct in-process inspections and final inspections to verify adherence to specifications and ensure certification and documentation are complete.
- Assist in creating and submitting PPAP documentation and first article reports as needed.
- Operate and maintain inspection devices, gauges, CMMs, and OGP equipment.
- Train employees on proper inspection procedures and measurement tool use.
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager to resolve issues, implement preventive measures, and make recommendations for future process improvements.
- Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and generate corrective action reports.
- Maintain calibration of inspection equipment and ensure accuracy in measurements.
- Ensure lot control and traceability are followed in production.
- Accurately enter inspection results into MES system.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications including GD&T.
- Uphold OSHA safety standards and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace in line with company standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace or defense.
- Proficiency in reading job travelers, blueprints, and GD&T.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100D requirements.
- Skilled in the use of measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, CMMs, and OGPs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to document and present findings clearly.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
- Ability to work all shifts (Day/Night/Weekend) as required.
Working Conditions:
- On-site role in a high-precision manufacturing environment in Elk River, MN.
- Requires standing, measuring, bending, and handling of materials throughout the shift.
- Shifts available across all three time blocks—flexibility required.
- Adherence to OSHA safety standards is mandatory.
