Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Shear Operator to join our team. The Shear Operator will be responsible for cutting sheet metal to precise specifications using power shears. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and a focus on safety and quality.
We are looking for a skilled Shear Operator to join our team. The Shear Operator will be responsible for cutting sheet metal to precise specifications using power shears. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong mechanical aptitude, and a focus on safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate mechanical shears to cut metal sheets accurately
• Read and interpret work orders and material specifications
• Adjust back gauges for precise cuts
• Inspect finished pieces to ensure they meet quality standards
• Handle and transport metal sheets safely to prevent damage
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures in a manufacturing environment
• Operate mechanical shears to cut metal sheets accurately

Qualifications & Skills:
• Previous experience as a Shear Operator or working with metal-cutting machinery preferred, but not required
• Ability to read and use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers)
• Basic math skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to lift and move metal sheets (weight may vary, up to 75 lbs)
• Ability to manage time and work independently
• Forklift proficiency (required)
• Previous experience as a Shear Operator or working with metal-cutting machinery preferred, but not required
• Ability to read and use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers)
• Basic math skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to lift and move metal sheets (weight may vary, up to 75 lbs)
• Ability to manage time and work independently
• Forklift proficiency (required)
Working Conditions:
• Work performed in a manufacturing environment
• Exposure to machinery, metal, and occasional noise
• Requires standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive movements
• Use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed shoes required
