Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and mechanically inclined Shop Helper (Interior) for a temporary assignment in Elk River MN, with potential for temp-to-hire. This role supports both assembly and warehouse functions within a millwork distribution environment. Ideal candidates will be comfortable working with hand tools, reading measurements, and performing physical tasks throughout the shift.
We are seeking a reliable and mechanically inclined Shop Helper (Interior) for a temporary assignment in Elk River MN, with potential for temp-to-hire. This role supports both assembly and warehouse functions within a millwork distribution environment. Ideal candidates will be comfortable working with hand tools, reading measurements, and performing physical tasks throughout the shift.
Key Responsibilities:
Assembly Duties:
- Assemble wood and steel doors using hand and power tools such as saws, routers, and nail guns.
- Prepare and stage materials for production processes.
- Adhere to all quality standards and notify management of product discrepancies.
Warehouse Duties:
- Pull and stage customer orders according to pick tickets.
- Perform inventory put-away and participate in cycle counts.
- Verify order accuracy and report any inconsistencies.
Qualifications:
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
- Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to follow instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Previous experience in a shop, warehouse, or production environment preferred.
- Willingness to learn and be cross-trained in various tasks.
Working Conditions:
- Stand and move throughout the entire shift.
- Frequently lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally lift up to 70 lbs.
- Exposure to vibration, noise, dust, and fluctuating temperatures.
- Fast-paced team environment in a production/warehouse setting.
