Job Summary:
The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for leading all warehouse functions, ensuring safety, efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement within a newly established facility. This hands-on leadership role will structure and develop the warehouse department, implement scalable processes, and collaborate closely with supply chain and logistics partners to support seamless end-to-end operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong change-management experience, data-driven decision making, and an ability to build alignment across the leadership team while driving performance, accuracy, and operational stability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of all warehouse employees, contractors, carriers, and visitors
- Maintain audit-ready records for materials and product movements
- Conduct internal audits across food safety, safety, traceability, and inventory accuracy
- Implement corrective actions with clear ownership and timelines
- Uphold data integrity and access controls to support audit outcomes
- Supervise and develop the warehouse operations team, including performance management and training
- Oversee logistics, inventory management, and order fulfillment processes
- Ensure operational compliance with internal policies and external regulations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess, onboard, and manage warehouse partners
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and carriers to resolve issues quickly
- Prepare and analyze key warehouse and logistics metrics for continuous improvement
- Develop and implement warehouse systems, SOPs, and policies
- Support internal and external audits and inspections
- Resolve escalated issues from internal teams or external partners
- Maintain accurate records of inbound/outbound shipments, damages, and product conversions
- Implement and manage lot traceability best practices
- Align warehouse operations to business needs through collaboration with procurement, sales, supply chain, and logistics teams
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in warehouse leadership or similar operations role
- Strong understanding of logistics, inventory management, and warehouse workflows
- Education in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong change-management abilities
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and solve problems effectively
- Proficiency with ERP, WMS, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of FDA and FSVP regulations preferred
- OSHA 10, Kaizen, Lean, or 5S experience preferred
- Ability to operate a forklift and aerial lift
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to hot, cold, noisy, or dusty environments
- Standing or sitting for extended periods
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
- Ability to operate machinery, vehicles, and power tools
- Requires hand, eye, and foot coordination
